Introduction:
The Municipal Clerk's Office is responsible for the agendas, resolutions and ordinances for the Mayor and Council, for all Elections, for voter registration, various licenses and is the liaison between the residents and the Council.
Open Public Records
The Municipal Clerk is the secretary for the Borough Council and maintains the official records and Borough contracts.
To obtain publc records, please complete and forward an OPRA (Open Public Records Act) Request Form to the Municipal Clerk's Office.

Elections
2023 Election Dates:
Primary Election: June 6, 2023
General Election / School Board Election: November 7, 2023
Polls are open from 6:00am til 8:00pm
Register to Vote:
Last day to register to vote or to transfer registration for the 2023 June Primary Election is May 16, 2023**
Last day to register to vote or to transfer registration for the 2023 November General Election is October 17, 2023**
**The Municipal Clerk's Office will be open until 9:00 p.m. on these dates to accomodate Fair Lawn residents wishing to register.
Anyone wishing to register to vote MUST:
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Be 18 years of age on or before the election day
- Have resided in the county at least 30 days
- Register at least 29 days prior to the election
You must re-register if:
- You move from one county to another
- You have a name change due to marriage, divorce or Judgement of the Court
- Any change of address

Vote by Mail:
Registered voters can apply to vote by mail. Just click on the link for the State's Division of Elections website and download the correct County application:

Garage / Yard Sales:
Notce: There are no permits required for holding a garage or yard sale but residents may not post signs in the 10' right of way, including telephone poles, bus stops, streets signs or the grass area.
