As they conquer their fears, self-consciousness and prejudices, the men come to discover that they’re stronger as a group, and the strength that they find in each other gives them the individual courage to “let it go.” For information and ticket sales call 973-OLT-4420 or visit www.oldlibrarytheatre.net

“The Gondoliers” presented by Ridgewood Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company Friday, November 8, 2019 at 7:30 pm The Gondoliers is one of Gilbert & Sullivan’s great successes. The story centers around two young Venetian gondolieri, Marco and Giuseppe Palmieri, who find that one is actually heir to the throne of Barataria. Lovely Venetian maidens have their hearts set on these two and marriages ensue with the charming Tessa and Gianetta. Complications begin to form when the fame-seeking Duke & Duchess of Plaza-Toro appear. Their daughter, Casilda, was wedded as a baby to the soon-to-be king. Problem is, no one can figure out which man is the right one. Don Alhambra, The Grand Inquisitor, admits to a mix up when he brought the infant prince to Venice. He summons the only person who can identify the heir, the nurse Inez. In classic Gilbert & Sullivan style, a series of twists and turns plays out to a delightful ending that has a few surprises. “Almost, Maine” presented by St. Anne Stages November 14-16, 2019 Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm. A beautifully structured play, Almost Maine is a series of nine amiably absurdist vignettes about falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways, with a touch of good-natured magic realism. Witty, romantic, and unsentimental! For information and ticket sales visit www.stannestages.com

They have traced the location of a mysterious doll, containing the heroin they’re after, to the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam Hendrix and his blind wife, Susy. Their game of cat and mouse seems squarely against Susy’s survival until darkness falls, leaving them all to maneuver in Susy’s world.
