Project Medicine Drop Box:
The Fair Lawn Police Department, the Fair Lawn Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention and the Fair Lawn Health Department have worked together to bring Project Medicine Drop to the residents of Fair Lawn. Project Medicine Drop, overseen by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, allows residents to bring their household medications, 24 hours-a-day 7 days-a-week, to Fair Lawn Borough Hall, 8-01 Fair Lawn Avenue, and drop off unused and expired medications into a secure monitored drop-box that can be found on the main floor, just inside the Municipal Building at the Parmelee Avenue entrance. By disposing of unneeded medications, it allows for proper destruction of those medications so that those same medications do not end up in the hands of people who they are not prescribed or meant for.
The following are accepted in the Project Medicine Drop Box:
- pills
- capsules
- patches
- pet medications (medication can be dropped in their packaging)
The following is NOT accepted:
- liquid
- needles & syringes
***Homebound or Hospice patients can obtain a Dispose RX from the Health Department to solidify liquid medication.
