2026/2027 Property Tax Bill

Your Final 2026/Preliminary 2027 tax bills are now available online at www.fairlawn.org.  The bills will be mailed on or before August 6, 2026.

The Borough delayed the mailing of this year's tax bills until the official 2026 tax rate was certified. By waiting for the certified tax rate, the Borough was able to issue a single, accurate tax bill rather than mailing estimated tax bills followed by revised bills later in the year. This approach also resulted in a savings of more than $6,000 in printing and postage costs.

Tax bills are due August 1, 2026. Pursuant to action taken by the Mayor and Council, on July 21, 2026, Resolution # R268-2026 the grace period has been extended through September 1, 2026. Payments received after the close of business on September 1, 2026, will be subject to interest as provided by law, calculated from August 1, 2026.

The Tax Collector's Office summer hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  For your convenience, payments may be:

                      Fair Lawn, NJ 07410

·         Placed in the secure drop box located in the rear parking lot of the Municipal Building.

·         Paid online through the Borough's website.

If you make payments through your bank's online bill payment service, please note that most banks mail a paper check to the Borough rather than transmitting the payment electronically. Please allow sufficient time for mail delivery to ensure your payment is received by the end of the grace period.

The Borough also offers the convenience of paying property taxes online by credit card, debit card, or e-check.

Visit www.fairlawn.org, select Pay or Apply, then Property Tax and Water Payment. Service fees are charged by the payment processor and are not retained by the Borough.  See the reverse side of this notice for additional information

The Borough of Fair Lawn collects property taxes on behalf of the Borough, the Fair Lawn Board of Education, Bergen County, and the Municipal and County Open Space Trust Funds. Of every tax dollar collected, approximately 61.19% supports the schools, 10.03% supports Bergen County, 28.19% supports municipal operations and 0.59 % supports the Municipal and County Open Space Trust Funds.
