Field and Picnic Permit Procedures:
Any Fair Lawn resident or business owner is eligible to secure a field permit by contacting the Fair Lawn Recreation Department at (201) 796-6746 or e-mail. This application must be filled out and a certificate of insurance must accompany it.
Permit for the Memorial Park Picnic Grove may be received by completing the application from the Recreation Department by calling (201) 796-6746 or e-mail. All permits are given on the basis of availability.
Bob Chevrier Picnic Pavilion - Grove "A":
The Bob Chevrier Picnic Pavilion is located at the end of the Avenue Of Heroes in Memorial Park (across from Fair Lawn Parks Department). Use of this area includes:
- 2400 sq. foot (80' x 30') covered pavilion
- 625 sq. foot (25' x 25') grill pad with 3 large grills, permanent grilling tables and fencing around grills for safety.
- Picnic tables, garbage and recycling cans are supplied.
Picnic Grove "B":
Grove "B" is located at the end of the Avenue of Heroes in Memorial Park (next to DeJong ball field). Use of this area includes:
- 625 sq. foot (25' x 25') grill pad with 2 large grills, permanent grilling tables and fencing around grills for safety.
- Picnic tables, garbage and recycling cans are supplied.
Picnic Grove General Information:
- Restrooms are available at anytime during the Memorial Pool season. Contact the Recreation Department to make arrangements for use of restrooms during the off-season.
- Use of Memorial Pool is available to Fair Lawn residents only. Residents can purchase Memorial Pool guest passes for non-residents if available (Covid-19 protocol restrictions apply).
- Use of Memorial Park amenities are available. These amenities include Schmidt ball field, DeJong ball field, Tennis courts, Playground, Fitness Park and Horseshoe pits.
Park/Facility Rules:
- Park shall close 1/2 hour after sunset. Designated parks that have lighting facilities shall close at 10:30 PM.
- No dogs or other animals allowed in the park.
- No person shall engage in any activity to the annoyance of other person making use of park facilities.
- No automobiles, mopeds, motorbikes, motorcycles or any other motor vehicles permitted in park at any time. Vehicles must be parked in established designated parking areas only.
- Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages prohibited, unless permit is authorized by Borough.
- Littering in public places prohibited.
- Discarding garbage, refuse or waste in waters or public places prohibited.
- No fires or cooking permitted in park unless permit is authorized by Borough.
- All playground and fitness park equipment must be used in proper manner and children must be supervised.
- No golf allowed in park.
- No disrobing in park.
- If ball field is unplayable, groups are not permitted to try and improve conditions.
- Field permits are non-transferable.
- Permits must be shown on request.
- Do not approach, feed or handle wild or stray animals
