Art Class                                                             Saturdays @ 10:30 a.m.
What better way to spend a Saturday morning than to take an Art Class!! Rose Crane, a senior volunteer with her master's degree in fine art, is available for instruction or just help seniors of any artistic level or background in pencils, ink, oil and more.

Bingo                                                                        Saturdays / Sundays
Aside from all-day Bingo on the weekends, we sometimes offer “Special Bingo” on selected weekdays, after lunch. We are always in need of loud and clear callers to happily volunteer their time. Play is only two cents a card!

Supervised Bridge                                            Tuesdays @ 10:00 a.m.
"Bridge Masters" Marge Bueschen and Peg McGinnis lead the discussions with players adding their comments. New members are accepted on a pre-arranged basis, according to space and level of ability. The lessons are geared to former players and those with knowledge of bridge; then players are weaned to more advanced groups outside this setting. (October to June only)

The format is play of pre-arranged hands followed by a brief discussion of how the bidding, play and defense should have gone. Time permitting, open hands are also played and a brief discussion follows each hand. Since this is Supervised Bridge, everyone must adhere to certain guidelines, e.g.: 13 points with 5-card major or better minor to open, 16-18 point no trump opener, 7-card pre-empt; weak 2's, blackwood, etc.

Canasta                                                                                                 Mondays @ 12:30 p.m.

People who crochet can now gather to meet new people, learn more about this wonderful fiber art form, and share their love and dedication to the art and craft of crochet. Kay Lampe has volunteered to lead this group aptly named ‘The Happy Hookers.’

Game Show                                                                                                                      Fridays @ 11:00 a.m.
The popular television game show, ‘Wheel of Fortune’ has now become the popular game for the seniors in Fair Lawn. This fun and exciting game promotes humor, creativity, camaraderie, and lots of surprises from its participants. Move over Vanna White - our volunteer, Dot Donohue, plays the "hostess with the mostest" - feel free to join in!

Improv Troupe                                                                                                                                     On hiatus .
Three out of four doctors agree: Laughter is the best medicine! Funny gal (and Senior Center Director) Karin Hodos runs the Senior Center's improv comedy troupe, "Falling Down Funny." Improv, short for improvisation, is the art of ad-libs. Each meeting includes different warm-up activities and games; join us for "spur-of-the-moment" fun!!!

Speakers
The Fair Lawn Senior Center wants to keep its participants informed and educated on the latest health and general topics pertinent to their lifestyles. We therefore provide impartial professionals from the town, county and state levels for lecture and discussion at least once a month. These lectures are always free of charge and open to the public.

Several times during the year we offer one-day or consecutive week courses. Craft clases, educational workshops, health and wellness programs are free of charge and anyone over 60 is welcome to participate.
