Message from the Superintendent of Recreation & Parks:

Many people always think of Recreation and Parks professionals/departments being people who just bounce a basketball or are involved in just sports.

Of course, after you look through our web site, you will see that the Fair Lawn Recreation/Parks Department has cultural, leisure and sports activities for all. The recreation needs of any community always varies from year to year as the population's age and interests change. The department staff maintains a vigil on all programs and will be responsive to the residents requests regarding programs and facilities.

Since 1991, the Recreation and Parks Department have incorporated numerous programs from young children through senior citizens. All our parks and their facilities have seen vast improvement. Additionally, the Department has received over thirty Bergen County awards for programs, individual accomplishments and facilities.

The Fair Lawn Recreation and Parks Department has been known as one of the premier in the field, throughout Bergen County and New Jersey, and we will continue to strive to be the best. The end result is the continuous betterment of the Borough of Fair Lawn and the enjoyment that Fair Lawn residents will receive.

In closing, I would like to thank our fulltime staff, Fair Lawn School Systems, part timers, individual volunteers, volunteer associations and civic and business organizations that continue to cooperate in making the Borough of Fair Lawn the best place to live.
