The Fair Lawn Health Department will be conducting the annual Blood Screening on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the Fair Lawn Senior Center.

Appointments can be scheduled by coming to the Health Department, 8-01 Fair Lawn Avenue, 9am to 12 noon, from April 14- May 19, 2008.  Participants should bring two large (legal) stamped envelopes; one addressed to themselves and one addressed to their doctor, who will also receive a copy of the screening results.  Payment is required at time of registration- $20.00 for Blood Screen/ T4 (thyroid screen) and $30.00 for the Prostate Screen.

The Blood Screening is comprehensive.  It analyzes over 23 different elements in the blood, including total cholesterol, glucose (for diabetes), electrolytes, and triglycerides, another type of blood fat.  The screening also includes a thyroid screen, a complete blood count, and a cardiac risk profile.  There is also a Prostate screen available for men.
