Minutes of the FL Environmental Commission Meeting on October 6, 2004

Attending members/reps: Gina Bernstein, Mary Burdick, Wendy Dabney (chair), Jenna Greenwood, Todd Newman, Joe Pineiro, Carol Wagner (Health Dept.), Ron Lotterman (guest)

Absent: Marty Etler (Council Liaison), Peter Kortright (Planning Board), Elaine Winshell (excused)


Guest Ron Lotterman of the FL Recycling Center explained the Litter Marshal Program, signed up commission members. Explained that Clean Communities funds are available, commission could work with recycling center on joint project. Last litter clean up scheduled for Oct.16. Ron to meet with George F. to discuss recycling barrels in parks.

Health Dept update - NJDEP notifications: 2 residences with underground tank leaks, Moblie on Rt 208 gas spill (clean up completed), review of Phase I by Sandvik, review of Remedial Action Report by Engine Rebuilders, remedial workplan proposal to be submitted by Cole Engineering. Borough permits for backflow prevention devices were renewed.

Planning Board declared that Daley Field is not in need of redevelopment.

As per Wendy, Marty to set-up meeting between historic committee and Naugle developer.

Wendy prepared poster board regarding proposed bike path; Marty to arrange date to present in front of Council.
