Minutes of the FL Environmental Commission Meeting on June

Correspondence:
A letter was received from Radburn Assoc lawyers in response to a previous
letter received by the commission from Mr. DiGeranimo (Radburn resident)
regarding Radburn’s historic status.
Two letters were received from the County of Bergen announcing upcoming meetings
- on 6/17/04 will be a meeting regarding “cross-acceptance” of the state plan
(council member Steve Weinstein will be attending as Fair Lawn representative);
on 6/14/04 will be the Open Space and Recreation Plan public hearing
Health Department updates – DEP issued monitoring well permits for Clariant,
Lake St Associates. Notification of underground storage tank leak at Morlot
residence; sulfuric acid spill at Lea & Perrins. DEP did Compliance Evaluation &
Assistance Inspections of FL Water Dept – in compliance. Health Dept started
program for recycling print cartridges.
Planning Bd created a Redevelopment Plan listing four borough properties that
may be candidates for redevelopment – Hayword, Nabisco, KEM, Clairiant.
Parks dept still waiting for recycling bins for Memorial. Bike racks not yet put
in on River Road.
The Historic Preservation annual meeting will be held on 6/16 at the Cadmus
House.
Commission members to think about new projects for fall.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at 7:30 PM in the
Municipal Building.
