Building Department
Welcome
Thinking
of Renovating?
If you are
thinking of renovating your bathroom, building a deck, putting up a new
fence or other home improvements, you will need to know which permits are
required. Call the Building Department at 794-5307 and they will assist
you. They will also help you determine if a zoning approval is needed,
explain what kind of documentation you need with your application and help
streamline the process for you before you begin.
Building
permits are required for water heater, boiler or furnace replacements,
interior alterations, steps, roofing, siding, chimney relining, decks,
sheds, fences, etc.
When applying
for permits for sheds, fences, decks or additions you will need to bring a
copy of your survey to the Building Department. Should you wish to widen
your driveway, you will be required to receive Zoning approval, which also
requires a copy of this survey.
If you have
any questions about requirements for a proposed project, code questions or
paperwork requirements, call the Building Department at 794-5307.
